Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I hope all is well with you.
We would like to invite you to join us in this year’s celebration for Santa Marian Kamalen. Attached is the schedule of our Novena and Masses from November 30th to December 8th.
Although your parish/school is assigned on a particular day, you are invited to attend our nightly Novena and Masses, especially on December 7th, Vigil of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. We will try our best to accommodate as many as we can while observing our Archdiocesan protocols.
Concerning the procession on December 8th, we will not have the traditional annual procession at Hagatña. Instead, Our Lady will visit the entire island and cover all parishes (the schedule of the Pilgrimage route will be posted soon). Based on last year’s pilgrimage, we witnessed thousands of our faithful expressing their devotion to Our Lady through their patient waiting and prayerful gestures during Her visit to their village and parish.
This year, as a sign of our solidarity in prayer, a decade of the Rosary will be recited at each parish to be led by a clergy accompanying Santa Maria. Moreover, upon arrival of Santa Marian Kamalen at the Cathedral, she will be transferred to a Carosa and a short candlelight procession around the block will take place followed by Mass.
Please note that the island-wide visit of Santa Marian Kamalen is not a motorcade. For the safety of everyone, we strongly ask that you do NOT organize motorcades to follow the statue. We truly appreciate your cooperation on this matter.
Let us continue to pray for the safety of all and an end to the pandemic. Let us plead for the intercession of Santa Marian Kamalen at our nine-day novena and Masses and the December 8 island-wide visit of our Lady.
Thank you very much, and God bless you all for your cooperation and participation.
Yours in Christ,
Msgr. James L.G. Benavente
Pastor & Rector
